Learn more about "Mothers of Preschoolers" (MOPS), and see how you and your preschooler could benefit from becoming involved.

MOPS stands for "Mothers of Preschoolers," and they are growing fast. It all started with eight mothers getting together to provide laughter, socialization, advice, and to celebrate, conduct Bible studies, and any other reason that they would have to get together. Because MOPS touched so many lives it has grown tremendously and may be in a community near you. MOPS is about mothers helping mothers get through and deal with any situation that moms may endure. Parenting is exciting and rewarding, but it can also be overwhelming too. Being a part of MOPS can help you through any situation because you go through it together, all the way.

What is in a MOPS Meeting?

Because it is about getting together to help each other and to socialize, the MOPS meetings are geared toward moms by sharing ideas, projects, a craft or demonstration, and a short devotion. Realizing that God is the one who gets all the credit, He works through the MOPS meetings to touch lives and open hearts. Women have excellent leadership skills and combining them with the fact that God is the leader, meetings are inspirational. They help you to feel better about your role as a parent, as a leader, and as Christian. Because women help you through your troubled times, you can do the same for someone else who may experience what you have already experienced. It is always a good idea to team up where you can become strong enough to handle any situation because you get together for the same reason.

Benefits of Becoming a Member

When you join MOPS your membership fee of $20.00 will allow you access to several tools that you can use in order to get the most out of your membership. Tools include attendance at the local MOPS group where you get out and enjoy spending time together as moms. There is also a bi-monthly magazine that will be delivered to your home for a year. The magazine offers parenting tips, crafts and fun things to do with your children. Receive a newsletter from MOPS every week with more information and important advice for moms. You also will receive the MOPS International Calendar, which helps busy moms keep up-to-date on special events that MOPS international celebrates.

How to Bring MOPS to your Community

There are four different types of groups of MOPS today; Classic, Teen, Military, and MOPS. You may have several different reasons to start a MOPS group; you may feel led, you are a mother to a preschool, you want to encourage other moms who are struggling to parent, or you are a leader. There are several steps that you need to take in order to start a MOPS group in your area. A MOPS group can reach out to other preschool mothers and you will feel good about helping others. Visit the MOPS website to learn more about how you can start a MOPS group in your community.
