Keep Memories Where Everyone Can See Them

This project takes time, brings back wonderful memories, and gets the whole family involved in making something new out of something old.

My kids and I had a lazy summer day just a while back. I admit those kinds of days are few and far between, but I will take them when they come. Anyway, I had asked if anyone could think of some kind of project we could work on while just lounging around, and my oldest son came up with this wonderful idea! Here's how it goes...

Materials

  • Old photos of family
  • Glue
  • An old table in the home
  • Tape
  • Modge Podge
  • Paintbrushes

Activity

  1. Look through old photos together as a family that you have at home.
  2. Let every person have a chance to pick out some of their favorite shots.
  3. Cut the pictures into fun shapes.
  4. Lay the photos out on an old table top to make a collage. Tape the photos down to the table.
  5. Give each family member a paintbrush and apply Modge Podge to the tops of the photos, covering them completely and generously.

Results

Now every time you use your old table, it will be filled with old memories, too! Kinda makes you want to cry, eh? Okay, but at least it looks nice.

Have a great week!
