This week's blog is actually a contest! I am curious to know how tweens have helped others during their summer vacation, and I have prizes for those who win.

I am very interested in helping others, and getting my kids involved with it, too. I am curious how many other parents out there are like-minded. So, here's the deal. I am looking for articles about what your child did this summer to offer help to others.

Here are the basic guidelines:

  • Must be 200-300 words
  • Must be submitted by a parent (no child submissions excepted)
  • Must be delivered to Denise Oliveri at parentingtweens@suite101.com only. No submissions should be forwarded to any other e-mail address. They will not be accepted.
  • Submissions cannot be an attachment. I cannot accept them. Please send your submission directly in the body of an e-mail. You can write up your essay in a word processing program and then copy and paste it into the body of an e-mail message.

The contest deadline is September 14, 2007. No exceptions.

Prizes will include:

  • 1st place - Article published as a guest article in the Parenting Tweens section of Suite101, a mouse pad with built-in calculator, and a $10 gift certificate to Wal-Mart.
  • 2nd place - A $5.00 gift certificate to Starbuck's and a mouse pad with built-in calculator.
  • 3rd place - A mouse pad with built-in calculator.

Send questions about the contest to Denise Oliveri at parentingtweens@suite101.com. Thanks!
