We are experiencing a real bout of winter blahs around our home these days. I don't want to go out because it is too cold...and the kids are as bored as can be. Sound like your house? I hope not, but if it does, there is hope!
I started using the trusty computer to help me find some "new" and "fresh" ideas that we could do around our house to liven us up, and I found a boat load of things to do. Take a look.
Stick in an exercise tape that you and your family can do together. It's not about working yourself into a frenzy, but just gentle movement that gets the blood pumping. Everyone will feel better, and it might start a trend!
Decorate your home with colorful flowers and plants. Have each family member pick out a plant or flower that they like best and place each person in charge of caring for their own plant. Help younger children, though, as you want to be sure that they pick a plant or flower that is easy to care for.
Drink more milk for vitamin D. You can make milkshakes and malts, if it is not your choice of beverage. You get most of our vitamin D from the sun, and when you are not outside for at least 15 to 20 minutes a day, you start depleting your body of this necessary vitamin. Adding milk to your family's diet will help improve yours and their stamina.
Get a new "Do." Change your hairstyle. It will give you something to either admire or gripe about, but at least it is something different! Give your kids a home perm, if you don't want to do anything to your own hair. Then maybe they can gripe and you can relax.
Just have fun!
